Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor: Cadi's Shadow Binding

Description

Here is the config that I use in Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor. I've played quite a few hours with this set-up and really enjoy them this way. Feel free to tweak them to your liking!

All actions are named.

Actions

The config uses the left pad for movement, with A on click for sprinting or dodging.

Looking around goes with the right pad. This pad is set to mouse-joystick, so the ingame prompts remain for controller but you can use mouse accuracy. Right pad touch also enables the gyro for aiming your bow.

The bumpers are mapped to the grips. Left grip enters the wraith world, while right grip interacts with the environment (grabbing Uruk or collecting herbs or elf-shot). These frequently used actions are more accessible this way, as they are easier buttons.

Meanwhile, the bumpers are mapped to less frequent used actions: left bumper opens the map, while right bumper is set to right stick click (identify captain / reset camera).

The ABXY-buttons remain the same, because they are very useful in combat (and for dodging).

The joystick is mapped to the D-Pad, while clicking it will activate the Storm of Ufrael (left stick click + right stick click).

Remarks

I left the left and right trigger as they were, so you can navigate menus in a normal way. The same goes for the D-Pad: D-Left isn't used, so it would make sense to map the Storm of Ufrael there. However, this prevents using the joystick for browsing Sauron's Army, so I left it empty and assigned the Storm to joystick click.

Sometimes I accidentally open the map in combat, when I'm grabbing the controller more tightly. Outside of combat I often forget that I assigned the left bumper to the map and use Select anyway.

Finally, I haven't played around a lot with deadzones and sensitivities. Just boost 'aim'- and 'camera'-sensitivity to very high ingame and you should be good.
